New City Church is a place you can belong and become who you are made to be. We are here to become people of presence for the good of the city and the glory of God. We say this, because foundational to the Christian faith is the idea that God is with us. One of the names for Jesus in the Bible is Emmanuel, which means God is with us. Believing this to be true and believing we’re called to be transformed to look more like Jesus, we aim to become people of presence, aware of God’s presence with us. We strive to be present with God, with each other, and ourselves so that we can become all that God has created us to be.
Whether you’ve been in church a long time, never been, or it’s been a while, we’re a place you can bring your doubts and questions and be honest about your life.
You’ll find our worship authentic, heartfelt, and simple and our teaching authentic, practical, relevant, and rooted in the Scriptures.
Come find your people and discover your next step into what God has for you.

We are committed to living faithfully to what God has called us to. As a church, our values are connection, formation, and mission. You can find that along with some other distinctives below.
You probably feel lonely. Why do we say that? Because pretty much everyone does, but we don't think God designed us for a lonely life. We also believe each person was made for connection with God and others and that you find true, full life through relationship with Jesus.
We aim to make space in our gatherings for you to encounter the presence of God. We want to help you connect with God, with others, and with yourself. Join us for a Sunday gathering to get connected or check out a group or upcoming event.
Do you like who you are becoming? We are all being formed into something. The question is - are we intentional about what is shaping us? As a community, we implement intentional practices to help us become who we were made to be - both corporately and individually.
We believe God is interested in us being wholly transformed through Jesus for the sake of the world, and we strive to help each other do that. Check out our resources page to see more about what this looks like.
God has given us all a purpose to play in His overarching mission for the world. We strive to actively participate in God's mission together and to help you do the same in your own unique sphere of influence.
We do this through things like our strategic partnership with McMurray Middle School and the Branch, as well as our missional grant, which exists to support the unique callings of those in our community.
We want people to know Jesus and make Him known, so in everything, we point to Jesus.
We believe the Spirit of God is moving in the world, and we seek to join where the Spirit is working.
We believe life is best together. We love the community we are in and want to see it flourish.
We believe God cares about our whole beings, and we long to see people and communities wholly transformed by the gospel.
We think questions can propel you deeper, so we strive to be an environment where questions are not only okay, they’re encouraged.
You’ll hear us talk regularly about God’s mission for the world, and we strive to join Him where He is working, and we want to help you do the same in your unique context.
We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
*Catholic here means universal.
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of Life,
who proceeds from the Father (and the Son).
With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic* and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
*Catholic here means universal.
Our mission is what we do. Our mission is found in the great commandments (Mark 12:29-31) and the great commission (Matt. 28:18-20). Our vision is who we strive to be - a community where people explore faith, find hope in Jesus, and make a difference.
“The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. 30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’" - Jesus in Mark 12:29-30 (NLT)
"The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” - Jesus in Mark 12:31 (NLT)
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” - Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT)
Your questions are valuable. Whether you have been a Jesus follower a long time or aren't sure what to think, we strive to be a safe place where people can explore their faith with all their doubts and questions.
It is possible for you to have hope while walking in a difficult season. We believe hope is not only found at the end of pain, but in the midst of it. We talk honestly and openly about pain, mental health, and the realities of being human. Pain and hope can coexist. The good news and personhood of Jesus provides profound hope and immense comfort while things are hard.
God has a purpose for your life. He has s uniquely wired you and every person to make a difference in their sphere of influence. In all we do, we strive to help people become who they were made to be in order to impact the community around them.
